Embraer E-Jets E190-100 & E195-200
Operational Profile & Double-Bubble Fuselage
The Embraer E190 and E195 (ERJ 190-100 and ERJ 190-200) form the larger half of the first-generation Embraer E-Jet family, sharing 89% parts commonality with the smaller E170/E175. In Europe, the E190/E195 fleet is the backbone of KLM Cityhopper at Amsterdam Schiphol, LOT Polish Airlines at Warsaw Chopin, Lufthansa CityLine / Air Dolomiti, and Helvetic Airways.
Unlike traditional regional jets derived from business aircraft cross-sections, the E190/E195 features a clean-sheet "double-bubble" fuselage structure (two intersecting circular arcs). This provides stand-up 2.00 m cabin headroom, spacious 4-abreast (2-2) seating with no middle seats, and generous underfloor baggage volume.
Honeywell Primus Epic Avionics & Fly-By-Wire
- Honeywell Primus Epic EFIS: Five 10×8-inch LCD screens driven by dual Modular Avionics Units (MAU), featuring Cursor Control Devices (CCD), dual Flight Management Systems with vertical/lateral RNP capability, and an overhead dark-cockpit philosophy with RAM-horn control yokes.
- Flight Control Laws (FBW): Elevators, rudder, and multifunction spoilers (5 panels per wing acting as roll spoilers, speedbrakes, and ground lift dumpers) are controlled via digital Fly-By-Wire through Primary Actuator Control Electronics (P-ACE) with hard alpha/AOA protection, while ailerons use conventional hydraulic PCUs.
- GE CF34-10E Underwing Turbofans: Powered by two wing-mounted General Electric CF34-10E5/10E6 engines delivering 18,500 to 20,000 lbf of thrust, managed by dual-channel FADEC and integrated autothrottle servos.
